I bought this scale for my 90-year-old mother-in-law who is visually-impaired. She needs to monitor her weight daily to check for fluid retention, so accuracy is a must. The scale works perfectly. It is easy to use and accurate. The voice is clear and loud enough for my mother-in-law. She raves about it! I highly recommend this product.

First, the pros:
+ The speech is clear and easily heard (loud enough to hear in the next room, actually).
+ No challenging controls--just step on the right place to activate the scale, and you're good to go.
+ Batteries last a very long time.
+ Reports in 0.2 lb increments.

Now the cons:
- No accessible instructions. Did they think a sighted person would be using this talking product to announce their weight to the neighborhood?
- Step on the wrong part of the scale and you will push the button to change it to kg instead of lb--and since you can't read the instructions you will spend the next hour wondering how you did that and how to fix it.
- No memory option. I used to have a scale that would tell me I had gained or lost x number of pounds. I appreciated that feature as a nice convenience. Incidentally, it had five settings, which helped with more than one person in the house.
- Does not report the same weight every time. It reports within 0.4 lbs, so I weigh three times and take the average.

I've listed a lot of cons. Some are not worth taking much rating off for--they will be the same for other products. The big ones are lack of accessible instructions and the kg button.

I purchased this scale about a month ago and it meets all expectations. It is also VERY accurate (sadly as I need to lose weight!).

I would give it a 5 star except that it's a little odd in its turning on. Other than that, and it's a nit, great product and worth the money.
